September 2007

We just survived our most demanding day of the semester. We both studied nearly 12 hours hours straight. Lisa had six straight hours of class. And we defended our paper on Mennonite footwashing in front of an intimidating panel of four professors and 20 graduate students. Lisa felt pretty good all day. Now we just need to get past Saturday, when we’re photographing a wedding near Goshen. Many, many thanks to Lisa’s mother who is here for the week helping us with the boys. I don’t think we would be surviving without her!

Here are some more photos of last weekend, mostly featuring Jonathan:

Today’s sign that the apocalypse is actually here: Roseland actually held a peaceful meeting! Read the boring report here.

“I don’t know how I’m going to feed myself.”
–R.J. Ballard, a freshman at the University of Washington, who said he had 73 cents left after buying the video game Halo 3.

This doesn’t hurt the chances of an imminent apocalypse either.

We’re back from our weekend in Freeport, Ill., to surprise my sister for her birthday. Had a great time eating pizza, attending an auction at the Schrader sale barn, and attending Micah’s baby dedication.

Here are some photos from the auction:

A big thanks to a couple of friends–David Banga and Marty and Hannah–for watching our boys recently so we could study. You guys are great!

By the way, Marty and Hannah just had their first kid. We went to see Malakai Troyer in Elkhart last Saturday. Everyone seems to be recovering well. Congratulations!

Andrew and Jonathan have begun using remote controls to pretend talking on the phone.
